Renting a wheelchair accessible van with hand controls is important to many people traveling with a disability, but it can be a difficult task. There are so many different varieties of hand control, each catered to specific needs, that it isn’t realistic to offer custom installation of a hand control for a short term rental. While some Wheelchair Getaways locations have rental mobility vans with hand controls installed, others do not.

Temporary hand controls are on the market from various manufacturers. Accessible Vans of America does not advise using a temporary hand control while traveling or renting a handicapped vehicle.
