Christmas and New Year Wheelchair Van Rentals
Christmas falls on Friday, December 25, 2026, and New Year’s Day on Friday, January 1, 2027. Wheelchair Getaways lists wheelchair accessible vans from over 200 rental locations. A rental that starts and ends on weekdays, such as Monday to Monday, is eligible to book online. A pickup or return on a Saturday or Sunday, or a pickup less than 72 hours away, needs a quote.
Plan a rental for the holidays
Price and availability depend on your dates and the city, and every location is independently owned and operated. If family is visiting for Christmas, or you’re traveling to see them, plan the van as early as you can: our team recommends booking ahead for holidays and weekends.
- Christmas week: a Monday, December 21 pickup with a Monday, December 28 return starts and ends on weekdays, so it’s eligible to book online.
- New Year’s week: Monday, December 28 to Monday, January 4 works the same way.
- Both weeks: you can keep one van from Monday, December 21 to Monday, January 4. Rentals can run for a day, a week or longer.
- Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are Thursdays this year, so they count as weekdays for online booking. For any date close to a holiday, confirm the pickup and return times with the location.

What to bring: each driver’s valid license and proof of insurance that covers a wheelchair accessible van. Drivers must be 21 or older, and some locations require 25. Everyone who will drive signs the rental contract at pickup, and payment in full is due then.

Wheelchair securement in every van
Each rental comes with a manually operated wheelchair tie-down system that fits almost all wheelchairs and scooters. Can I keep the van from Christmas through New Year’s?
Yes. Choose a weekday pickup and return, such as Monday, December 21 to Monday, January 4. Rentals can run for a day, a week or longer.
Can I pick up on Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve?
